CHICAGO, July 19th – Cheevers & Company, Inc., an agency-only brokerage firm providing execution services for a diverse range of institutional clients and asset managers in both domestic and international equities, today announced that Laura Yunger has been appointed President of the company. Robert Puricelli, former President of the firm, has been named to a newly created position as Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Yunger had most recently been responsible for client services and marketing for the firm.

Prior to Cheevers & Company, Ms. Yunger held executive positions at Wachovia Corporation. As Vice President of Enterprise Planning & Strategic Initiatives, Ms. Yunger oversaw profitability reporting programs for subsidiary brokerage Wachovia Securities. Most recently, Ms. Yunger served as Head of Wealth Marketing Strategy for Evergreen Investments, Wachovia’s investment management division. In this role she developed competitive selling strategies for the firm’s suite of high-net-worth investment products, which included customized equity & fixed income portfolios, separately managed accounts and alternative strategies. Ms. Yunger also held senior positions with Bank of America in their Consulting Services Group, where she played an integral role in the launch and success of their fee-based brokerage & managed wrap account programs.

Ms. Yunger is a member of the National Association of Securities Professionals’ Chicago & Baltimore/Washington chapters, the Mid-Atlantic Security Traders Association, and the Security Traders Association of Chicago.
