Cheevers & Company Maintains Favorable Comparison to Elite Peer Group in 2nd Quarter Execution Analysis

Chicago, IL, July 18, 2011, Cheevers & Company, Inc., an agency-only brokerage providing execution services for a diverse range of institutional clients and asset managers in both domestic and international equities, today released its quarterly trade execution quality summary. Quantitative Services Group (QSG), a leading provider of independent global equity research and advanced trading metrics, captured the data.

QSG compared Cheevers & Company’s execution quality to the performance of other, typically larger and more recognizable agency brokers, buy-side institutions, and bulge bracket firms to create the sample. The analysis, comprised of approximately 32 billion shares bought or sold, permits comparison of executions of comparable orders and filtering for similar capitalization, liquidity, momentum and volatility characteristics.

Independent transaction cost analysis provider QSG utilizes tools to measure execution quality that incorporate and adapt to the challenges of today’s trading landscape. With the assimilation of the 2nd quarter, Cheevers & Company’s historical data continue to outperform firms in arrival price, interval VWAP and full-day VWAP. QSG measures execution quality through extensive tick-based analysis, with a number of proprietary benchmarks including Liquidity Charge, which allows Cheevers & Company to measure their actual footprint in the name. As an agency-broker, Cheevers & Company has access to most any venue, allowing clients to trade based on their preferences.

Laura Yunger, President of Cheevers & Company, commented, “Unlike many woman or minority-owned brokerages, we provide independent 3rd party measurements of our execution performance, which are designed to minimize our clients’ implementation costs. We hope to build on Q2’s momentum and will let the data tell the story of Cheevers & Company as an emerging brokerage out-performing firms with higher name recognition.”
