Titlebaum says that WILD is making “opportunities more accessible for women.” That might involve preparing women to be able to take advantage of opportunities when they arise. At the executing brokerage firm Cheevers and Co., president Laura Yunger needed to hire two traders last year. She would have liked to have hired at least one woman, but she couldn’t find a qualified female candidate in the time frame she had. Yunger moved to Chicago last summer and says she’ll use local women’s groups, including WILD and WIP, to build up her network and potentially help her fill any new positions.
